Where has the game management come from?

For 25 minutes after half-time, Arsenal struggled to contain Wolves. The hosts played through Mikel Arteta’s side easily, created several excellent chances, and dominated the game, not allowing any counter-attacks whatsoever. Then Arsenal switched on and saw out a narrow lead to secure a crucial three points.

후반전 첫 25분동안 아스널은 울버햄튼을 상대로 경기를 압도하지 못하는 모습이었다. 울버햄튼은 쉽게 아스널 수비측을 공략하기 시작했고, 정말 위협적인 모습을 많이 연출했다. 거의 경기를 지배하는모습이었고 그에 반해 아스널은 전혀 역습찬스를 가져오지 못했다.  아스널은 승점3점을 가져가기위해  근소한 1점 리드를 지키려 교체로 변화를 꾀했다.

The final half 20 minutes was an excellent portrayal of dealing with a pressing opponent and protecting a lead. From winning fouls in the final third to release pressure to stout defending, remaining positionally sound and well-structured, it was a superb performance to see out the victory.

변화 후 경기 마지막 20분은 정말 완벽한 상대 압박 + 리드를 지키는 모습의 표본을 보여주었다. 파이널 서드에서 파울을 얻어 압박을 벗어난다거나,  끝까지 포지션들을 지키고, 팀의 체계를 보여준점들이 이번 승리를 더욱 빛 나게 만들었다.

Arsenal even showed a dirty side. They stayed down after winning freekicks. Lucas Torreira was booked for time-wasting at a corner. They took the ball to the corner to run out the clock. They fouled when they had to to prevent Wolves attacks and cleared the ball rather than attempting to play out from the back.

아스널은 이기기위해 더러운 플레이도 하는 모습이었다. 프리킥이후 시간지연을 하거나, 토레이라가 코너킥 차는걸로 시간 어그로 끄는것들 말이다. 울버햄튼의 역습 찬스가 나오자 파울로 끊는 모습까지 보여주었다. (이런것들이 아스널에서 자주 보지 못했던 장면이라..)n

아스널은 정말 경기 운영을 잘해냈고 이런 훌륭한 운영은  아스널이란 팀에서 정말 요즘엔 보기 드문 장면이다.
